Travelogue: Kuala Lumpur

Last weekend, Brad, Bea, and myself had the opportunity to go on a trip together to KL! Even though we were sent there for work (more on that soon), we had so much fun exploring the city together during our free time.

My first time on a Firefly flight. It's surprisingly convenient to travel to KL via the Subang route! It's only an hour's plane journey and another 20mins on the road to the city. What more, you're able to check in just 30mins before the flight, which saves a lot of traveling time!

Brad made me take a picture of all the snacks in my bag!! Haha, absolutely cannot live without snacks, and I know Bea can't too ;) The lady in black is Christel, our lovely 'nanny' for the trip!

Wheee we're a bunch of happy troopers! And I couldn't have asked for more awesome traveling partners ;)

Met our other 'nanny', the hilarious Miko, at KL's Park Royal Hotel. He managed to get room upgrades for all of us, and got Bea & I connecting rooms!

We each had a spacious room for the 3 days in KL, plus WIFI! :D

And off we were to conquer the nearby shopping malls despite the rain.

Check out the neon flats I got at the Vincci sale for $9 a pair!! And the navy embellished ones for $20! Always so deliriously happy when I find shoes in my size cos it's practically impossible to do so in Singapore. I either always pay a premium or bear with the news that they don't carry a size 41.

Being the gluttons that we are, we had to look around for food and settled for Ben's at Pavilion Shopping Mall. It had sucha inviting ambience, it was hard to resist! Loved loved loved the whole nautical concept of the place.

The ambience definitely made up for the mediocre food.

What I really liked were the conversational cards they place on every table. They definitely encourage people to practice better social etiquette when dining!

--

The next morning started at 4A.M. for us. It was a whole day of filming with 5 other bloggers from Malaysia and an awesome production crew. I'll be uploading photos from that day soon ;) After filming, we headed out with our new-found Malaysian friends to explore KL's street food. So so so glad we dragged our asses out cos the gastronomic experience was not to be missed!!

The great thing about hanging out with fellow bloggers is that they totally understand when you're catching up on the day's worth of tweets/instag updates! ;D

And they'll wait patiently for everyone to grab food photos no matter how badly they want to dig right straight in. Btw, the KL black hokkien mee is SUPER YUMMMAY! So was the Orh-Lua! Anyone knows where to get black hokkien mee in Singapore PLEASE please let me know ;)

Next destination for frog leg porridge, grilled chicky wings, salted egg yolk crab, lala and more! We slept like babies that night with all that yumyums in the tumtums ;D

--

All fresh after a good 12hour sleep, we checked out and headed to explore the Bangsar area of KL!

Apparently this area is the HollandV of KL and it definitely had the vibes!

We settled for brunch at Antipodean and had a really satisfying meal. What more, the full breakfast is only 18RM (SGD7.50)!!

Walked around for a bit, then the gluttons were at it again! Stopped at The Daily Grind because we heard the red velvet cake there was delish. The meal was pretty disappointing firstly cos the mushroom soup they served had already turned sour and the cake really didn't taste as good as it looks (they substituted the cream cheese with whipping cream).

We were homeward-bound after tea! Though it was a mere 3 days, I had truckloads of fun with them and we made a pact to come back soon for more food hunts. So yes, till the next KL Travelogue ;)

On the same note, I've been sooo desperate for a holiday recently it's not funny. Been dreaming hard about a beach getaway to Koh Samui or one of the pretty islands of St Vincent & The Grenadines, or perhaps a crazy spring break in Cancun or The Bahamas. But I can't do much traveling this year cos of the upcoming wedding and our business plans. Oh wells, guess I can only dream for now... And hopefully land myself a big fat break soon ;)

Well, hope your Monday's been kind and have a great week everyone! x

38 kisses:

Hi C, I'm a fan of the Windows software, so I doubt I can use a Mac anytime.
I'm currently using the Toshiba Ultrabook Protege Z830 cos it's really really light (about 1kg only) and the startup etc. is really fast and convenient. So yes I'l highly recommend that for work/business ;D

I forgot to add that I'm actually not really much of a tech person, so perhaps it'll be good your research online!!
