A Date with Reebonz City!

Just when Fred & I were running out of ideas of things to do together, Reebonz City put together a mix of features and sent us on a Couple Therapy date! It couldn't have been more timely and we had a really good time bonding over a spa session, lunch, and an art class.

Our date started off at Essence Vale Spa, a centre that specializes in aroma therapy. We were scheduled for a body scrub and massage!

We first had our feet soaked in eucalyptus oil, then our bodies scrubbed clean with a passionfruit & grape seed body scrub, and it followed with an hour-long massage with rose petal & grapeseed oil. Loved that the massage bed was heated and that there weren't any clocks in the room. Haha it's my pet peeve to have clocks ticking away in any therapy room; not only does the ticking get amplified in the silence, it also constantly reminds you of the time, doesn't it?
All rejuvenated, we moved on to have lunch at Gaia Ristorante & Bar, situated at Goodwood Park Hotel.

Beautiful setting at the recently-opened restaurant! We had our meal at the Main Dining Area and boy did we feel under-dressed! Thankfully we were there for lunch ;)

Teehee, fooling around while waiting for lunch to be served ;)

The meal started with their house specialty - Buffalo Milk Mozzarella, paired with a serving of Parma Ham. The mozzarella was sinfully rich and very different from the usual mozzarella I always have, but it went really well with the ham. We also had a portion of the Italian version of the Onion Soup, which was less heavy than the French's.

The mains they recommended were soooooo goood we immediately regretted stuffing our faces with too much starters! I had the Venezia Risotto - carnaroli rice with fresh squid, scallops, baby lobster and sea bass simmered in squid ink and topped with 'Cigliegino' cherry tomatoes. Don't be deceived by the looks of it cos it was seriously good! Fred had the Fettucine Coe E Moeche - homemade tagliatelle pasta with soft shell crab and fresh chopped parsley and tomato sauce and that was really tasty too. We decided that we'll definitely go back to have their pasta again! ;)

The Flan Di Cioccolato for dessert. Freshly baked, we had to wait a good 15mins for it to be served! And all happy after lunch, we moved on to our last and most interesting stop!

Tucked at a corner of an industrial area is Clay Street, a pottery studio! Fred & I have never gone for any classes together, let alone an art class, so this was definitely the icing to the cake :)

Mr Choo teaching us the basics of the 'pinching' method for pottery!

Us hard at work ;)

And voila! Our finished art works! :D Not only did we pick up a new skill, we also learnt new things about each other during this short one-hour lesson. Definitely a therapeutic session for the both of us :)

Like what we did?
Reebonz City would like to treat a lucky couple to a most pampering & exhilarating Valentines' Day date!

All you need to do is to visit their Facebook Page and follow the instructions above! The couple who receives the most number of votes walks away with an unforgettable and entirely-sponsored experience! The Game starts tomorrow, 26th Jan 2012. All the best! ;)

I think a bralette is cool! good for girls that are a little heavy on top? :)

Redina said... [Reply to comment]

The bralette will look more like a top if the straps were thicker! Or in brighter colours. Because the original version in white really looks like an actual bra! :S

Hello Vel, was thinking a bralet may not be as versatile as a top so tops FTW! :) are you naturally fair btw? It'd be cool if they allow you to bring back your piece of art :) your pottery looks pretty like a professional! Hope you had a great CNY!

Anon said... [Reply to comment]

A random question vel, what's your take regarding people who graduated from private schools like SIM?

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Christine, I will email you when I manage to get pics for the bag, thank you! :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

P.S. Fred's 1.85m and I'm only 1.7m, so yes he's always towering over me!

Hi D, they have two outlets in SG, one in Raffles City and the other in Wisma Atria :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Jane! Thank you for your input :)
Yesyes!! Dolly Wink's liquid eyeliner is really good. Hardly smudges and is sooo precise in application. Use it all the time :D

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hello! Heh thank you for your input about the bralet :)
Yes, they're helping us with the firing and glazing and we should be bringing our art pieces back soon :) Hope you had a good CNY break too!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hmm why should there even be a take on people graduating from private schools? As long as they're happy with their choice and if the schools provide proper education, I don't see why there's anything wrong with graduating from a private school. I've always believed that education is important but paper certificates can never put value on anyone. Sure, it can get you the interview, but it's character that gets you the job. Have never been the type that bothers about what schools people come from, or what their highest education level is. I think that's being shallow :)

Anon said... [Reply to comment]

hi babe, love eyelet details. please make it to a top!

Nicolette said... [Reply to comment]

Please manufacture it as a top with thicker straps (hide armpit fats) ! :D

Anonymous said... [Reply to comment]

the eyelet top is so pretty! How about a dress version :D PS: you're really pretty vel :D

chiafiona said... [Reply to comment]

You two are TALLLLLLL people! Envy you cause you can lie on Fred's shoulders with ease. My bf's 1.73m and I'm 1.68m and I always get a sore neck after lying on his :/ You two look great together! Cant wait to read your post(s) on wedding preps and the actual thing itself. Take it slow girl! Don't stress yourself out and read from your tweets you got a sudden allergy. Get well soon babe! Hope the doc can find a remedy asap :) Rest well!

chiafiona said... [Reply to comment]

Oh and towering is good :) under his protection! :p

chiafiona said... [Reply to comment]

Hello Vel, I was wondering if you have any suggestions/remedies for dark circles. Been trying to sleep about 8-9hours but studies really don't allow me to :( my dark circles are getting worse by the day. i tried putting concealer but my eye area looked ghastly cause it appear to be white as compared to the other parts of my face. putting eyeliner(without concealer under the eyes) made my eyes look like they got boxed -.- any ideas? thanks in advance babe :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

thank you for the input! :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Nicolette, thank you for the input. Will definitely consider that :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

will see if that's feasible!! :) thank you for the input and you're too kind!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

hi fiona, i don't really have any eye creams/gels that i can recommend but i'd say the raspberry roots eye masks from thefaceshop are pretty good! for concealers, i use YSL's touche eclat and it blends and covers my dark circles really well! hope this helps :))

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Aww thank you so much for the concern babe, am trying to rest well, keep calm and wait till the allergy blows over! :)

K said... [Reply to comment]

I like it that you are blogging more frequently now!! Please keep up the momentum! Teeheex.

A tiny request here that you blog a journey of you from school to love bonito, and all the challenges you faced moving from
LJ to dot com, family objections if any, juggling school, social life and BC/LB. No need to reveal trade secrets. I just thought it truly inspirational that you three girls are doing so awesome at such a young age! I am your age but feel like an utter failure in life.

PS: Hope the allergy is gone by now! Speedy recovery!

C said... [Reply to comment]

Read that you were sick due to skin allergy?? Get well soon val! Love reading your updates too:)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi K, I will try my best :) I sincerely hope you'll find something you like doing and that things will look up for you soon. Not everything's gonna be nice & pretty in life, every one has their fair share of worries. I always believe that trusting in what God has in store for me helps. Feel free to email me if you need to talk :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

P.S. Thank you for the wishes babe!
