Finally took some time during the long weekend to try these liquid foundations and do a comparison between them! Here's my review on the products and I hope this will prove useful to some of you :) Firstly, a little background on my skin type - I have combination skin, with an oily "T-Zone" area, while the skin around my cheeks, eyes and mouth is usually dry. Just a note that what suits my skin type might not suit yours, so it'd be good to do some homework before committing to a bottle! ;)
I generally only use foundations for events or days when I need to look more polished. The skin needs prepping before foundation (or any makeup for that matter) can be applied. A good way to prep the skin is to have your regular 3-step routine (cleanse, tone & moisturize), then apply a primer to get the face makeup ready! Remember to apply sunblock if necessary.
A good trick to reduce wastage is to pour/pump small amounts on the back of your hand, and replenish only if necessary. Using a foundation brush will help give an air-brushed effect, though blending may be less easy compared to using a sponge.
These are the RMK makeup products I currently use and so far they've been working really well for me. There's definitely room for improvement packaging wise, but I still love them to bits! Am now on the hunt for good primers & loose powders, do you girls have any to recommend? In the meantime, I had requests to try out Dior, Cle de Peau & Chanel liquid foundations. Does anyone know how I can get samples for these brands? If so, do let me know!
Till our next beauty chat! Xx

Thanks for sharing your beauty picks! Oh yes, if u're into mineral makeup u could try Bare Minerals Prime Time foundation primer available from Sephora and The Body Shop's Extra Virgin Minerals Loose Powder. My skin type is in between combination and sensitive, so i thought i give mineral products a try as they are better for the skin. And I'm currently using these 2 and they work so well tgt!
Hope this helps! :)
Thanks for sharing this post...
you look so different before and after make up especialy ur eyes.... :)
Hi Vel, firstly i must say that u are gorgeous! and its really nice to read such a long post from u, and it's definitely useful, thanks for the reviews!:) Would really love to try them soon:) anw, i was thinking whats the hard-to-remove eyeliner that u are using?
Love,Shihui!

Hi Velda! I have eyes like yours, which makes me sad cos i dunno how to make them as pretty as you make them... Do you use an eyelid tape?
And what brand of false eyelashes do you use (like for everyday that type not the huge type).
thank u :)
For Dior samples do go down to Isetan Scotts Dior counter during weekends and look for a BA called Lynn. She's really nice, u can ask for consultation of what type of foundation to try from their brand and ask for sample to try first.
hello velda! am aware that you have a single eyelind, but when you put on your make up (eyeliner , mascara), why does it seems like you have double eyelid!! thank you :)
Hi Vel, this is a really useful entry on make up! Thanks for introducing it! U have inner eyelids? I think the way you draw it is really nice! Consider doing a video on it? :)
hello velda! thanks for sharing! may i know where to purchase RMK foundation from? i have not heard of this brand until your review. :)
Thank you!
Hi Vel! You're gorgeous and your blog is awesummzz!
hey vel, where can i buy RMK products? i wanna try them out after reading your review!
p.s. i cannot wait to try bifesta too. it's seems cheap & good!
Hi Vel !! =) A million thankss for this great post! It's so helpful and informative; I'm definitely going to check out the Estee Lauder and RMK foundation soon!
hi velda, i read your take on Estee Lauder, I understand what you meant the product is thick. I have the same skin condition like yours. I bought my Estee Lauder double wear few months ago and i must say its my holy grail foundation product. I've tried to apply using foundation brush, i encounter what you experience too. It started to cake up. Now the secret lies here, instead using brush/fingers, i use my Beauty Blender sponge (the pink sponge). When I use my beauty blender, little goes a long way and because of the thick consistency, it gives me totally flawless effect on my face! The beauty blender really help a lot. I use half of pea size and concentrate on my T-zone and cheeks area. Guess what, my face stays matte through out the day!
So i think the problem is not Estee Lauder but how you may apply it. Try the beauty blender!! I think you can find one from Sephora. I bought mine online.
Hi Velda! How do you do your eye make up? Do you have single eye lids or double? 'Cos I have single eye lid and I find it hard to apply eye make up and look nice :(
Hey Vel, really enjoyed this entry... Thanksss very much for the informative blog post! Will be buying RMK and Bifesta this weekend :DDD Have a great weekend!!!
hi velda! (:
im thinking of having a mafia themed party and i recall you having one before! just wondering if you could share with me where you got your props from! thanks!
Babe! U look absolutely beautiful before andafter makeup! U have awesome complexion too (even after removing your make up it is still so smooth *ENVIOUS*).
Also, i realized you are really good at doing eye makeup! I have single eye lids and i have no idea how to squeeze out that double eye lid of mine, how do u do that? So natural and your eyes look amazing!
hello! can i know what brand you are using for eyeliners?
Yo Vel! What brands/types of blusher are you using? Please share! :D
hi babe, which eyeliner do you use? i.e. brand/type, etc. does it smudge and is it waterproof? sorry to bother - i've been looking for a good eyeliner for ages! thanks so much!!
how did you came across belluspuera as a name for your blog?
Vel, blog about your wedding preparation soon!
hi vel, cld u share which optician u usually go to and where did u get ur current spectacles frm? thanks!
Are you able to do up a makeup tutorial if you are free? Love your makeup.
Where did you get your false eyelashes?
Hi Vel, what did u use to create your double eyelids? I remember you had a problem with asymmetrical eyes. How do u try to resolve that? Thanks :)
Hi Vel
What do you use for your double eyelids.
Please share.
Thanks!
Hi Kathy, thank you for the recommendation! Will definitely put them on my 'to try' list ;) have a good week babe!
Hey Michelle! Yes I do haha from single eyelids to double, and it makes so much of a difference!
Hey Shihui, thank you for popping by and reading my ultra long entry! Heh I currently use Shu Uemura's Painting Liner. It's not recommended for people with oily lids though, cos it smudges pretty easily!
Hi Angie! On regular days, I'm usually in my glasses. But when I have events etc., I try to use the most natural looking ones from Shu Uemura. I like them cos they have a rather thick 'base' that actually acts like tape and allows my eyelids to kinda flip up for the double eyelid effect. I'm currently looking for less expensive alternatives (one pair costs about $40+ but can be used a good 5-8 times). Hope this helps :)
Thank you for the info babe! :D
Hello! I rely on false lashes from Shu Uemura to get the double eyelid look. They have a rather thick 'base' that actually acts like tape and allows my eyelids to kinda flip up for the double eyelid effect ;)
Hi Xiu Hui, yes I have inner eyelids!! Haha my eyes are soooo tricky to deal with I'm not sure if the video will be appropriate for all. Perhaps next time? Thanks for dropping by and reading my ultra long entry nonetheless ;)
Hi Valerie! Whoops sorry I forgot to add this info. There's a RMK counter at Istetan Shaw Centre!
Aww thank you, Val! I credit it to makeup :)
Hello! :) Yes you should definitely try them! There's a RMK counter at Istetan Shaw Centre :)
Aww it's my pleasure babe! It'd be best to try them at the counters before you make your choice! :)
Oooh this beauty blender sounds like a miracle! Will definitely get mine the next time I'm at Sephora. Thank you for the info babe!
Hi Sharm, on most days I have single eyelids, and on the days I put false eyelashes, the thick eyelash 'base' acts like tape and allows my eyelids to kinda flip up for the double eyelid effect ;)
Btw, it takes time to get the look you want! Perhaps you can search online for some makeup tutorial videos? I'm pretty sure those will help accelerate the learning process. Don't be too discouraged babe!
Aww thank you for spending time to read my really long entry! Hope you'll enjoy the products as much as I do :)
Hey Joyce, I got most of the props from Spotlight, and the toys from a heartland toy shop in Parkway! :) Oooh and the Happy Birthday glasses from Far East!
Hi Juvy, ohh noo all credit goes to the makeup!! I don't really have very good complexion, it's probably good lighting that day ;)
Anyway, I have single eyelids on normal days but on days that I want to have double eyelids, I use my false lashes. They have a rather thick 'base' that actually acts like tape and allows my eyelids to kinda flip up for the double eyelid effect. Hope this helps!! And thank you for reading this really long entry of mine, I hope it was useful to you! Have a good week ahead babe :D
Hello! I use Shu Uemura's Painting Liner but I won't recommend it to those with oily lids cos it smudges quite easily. I heard the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner is really good! Am going to try that next :)
Hi Vennie, I alternate between NAR's Orgasm and Bobbi Brown's Blush in Desert Rose. The former has a shimmery texture while the latter's matte!
Hello! I use Shu Uemura's Painting Liner but I won't recommend it to those with oily lids cos it smudges quite easily. I heard the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner is really good! Am going to try that next :)
it's pretty random, i thought it looked nice as a pen name :)
Hey Anna! I don't have anything to blog about for now!! Heh perhaps when I start preparations? :)
Hi Rachael, I go to my friend Titus from Mee Mee Optics to check my eyes and the current glasses are from YES! at Suntec :)
I usually use Shu Uemura's false eyelashes cos the thick 'base' gives me a double eyelid effect! They're pretty pricey at $40+ per pair but I can use a pair for up to 5-8 times :)
Hello! It's still not resolved! I just got used to it and I use my false eyelashes when I want to have double eyelids. Otherwise, I'm usually in glasses or just single eyelids ;)
Hey Daphne, on days that I want to have double eyelids, I'll use my false lashes. They have a rather thick 'base' that actually acts like tape and allows my eyelids to kinda flip up for the double eyelid effect.
Congratulations to you.. You and Fred make a perfect match. When you do start your planning of your wedding, do share it with us every step of the way! reading your blog makes me excited about your wedding! so feel your joy! :)
Aww thank you very much for your kind wishes :) I will try my best to document the preparations etc.!
Ah I see! Where do you get your NAR's product? Tried Sephora but they don't bring in NARS yet! Also, do you use the cream or powder for Bobbi Brown's Blush? Hee thank you in advance!
Hi Babe,
Thanks for being so generous in sharing your beauty secrets. U are such a humble and lovable person.
Thank you for your reply, have an awesome week ahead too :)
May I know which model of Shu Uemura's fake eyelashes did you use? I've been trying to look for natural ones like yours!
Hi M, it's called Soft Cross if I'm not wrong :)
Powder for Bobbi Brown! And I usually get NARS overseas babe. I don't think there are any NARS counters in Singapore yet!
Hey Vel,
I remember you saying you use Shu Uemura's UV under base mousse in one of your beauty posts. Are you using the beige or pink one? Which do you think is better? Thanks!
Hi Cheryl, I've stopped using it cos I've found a better sunblock - Kiehl's Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ :)
