Quick Update!

Sorry for the lack of updates here! Once we were back from London, there was a whole string of activities and there was hardly any time to catch my breath! I also went through a record 8 day long diarrhea ordeal, and the dehydration led to a massive breakout (boohoo!). And just when I thought I was gonna have some 'me' time, there's another series of happenings this week..

Well but lucky for me, work's been splendid. London was a terrific break from the usual monthly buying trips and I came back fresh and inspired. Just approved 21 pretty samples for manufacturing today and our upcoming Fall/Winter collections are looking really great! Remember to catch the first launch tomorrow at 2P.M.!! ;)

Yep and here's a quick pictorial update of the past week:

At Haslinda & Shawn's wedding. We didn't manage to mingle much with the newlyweds that night but I'm extremely excited for what they have in store together :))) Here's wishing you both a fantastic journey!

--

Attended the Robinsons & Mio TV Prime Time Fall Fashion Show, then played Fashion Police at Raffles City Shopping Mall! I had sooo much fun (by far one of the best few advertorials I've done) and I cannot wait to blog about them. Many thanks to the trusty 5" babies for carrying me through ;)

--

Steamboat at the 'rents for Ah Gong's 80th. Check out those GIANT prawns (compared to a normal sized one) and how much space they took up in our pots! Am officially addicted to the 'Little Sheep' Hot Pot Soup Base too.. It's KILLER. Heh and famfam time's always my favourite :)

--

Pool party at Cara's, where her uber cool neighbours kayaked back & forth, where we spent the entire Sunday unwinding in the company of friends & food. It was nomnoms & boozeys non-stop and even boating later at night. Everytime we hang out at Paradise Island it's seems so much like a vacay. So yes to holiday homes next time!

Lastly, thank you Titus Reynolds & Kimmykimkim for this yummy satchel!! :D They waited 6 weeks for the Cambridge Satchel Company to hand make the bag and the results are amazing!

Wokay, that's about all I have for now. Till the next and have a good week y'all x

58 kisses:

Hi Vel,

Just curious, is the Proenza Schouler bag Rach carries on her blog the same one you carried to Prague?
Sorry I have to ask here cos she didn't reply me.
If it is, can you tell me where you got it from? I really like it after seeing you both carry it.
Thank you, Vel!

Jen

Hey Vel, you look gorgeous as usual! May I ask if the black dress you wore to the Robinsons & Mio TV Prime Time Fall Fashion Show is gonna be up on LB soon? Thanks! :)

hi, where did you get the 'Little Sheep' hot pot soup base from?

Anonymous said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Vel, I'm shocked that Rach wore a white dress to the wedding! Isn't it customary not to 'steal' the limelight from the bride? :/

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Yup they'll be up soon!!!! But sadly, no more pictures of the hunks ;)
Have a good week too, Wendy!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Yes so thankful they are! Which black bag are you referring to babe? :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Michelle, aww thank you :))
Hope to meet you in person soon!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Jen,
Yes it's the same bag :) I got it from net-a-porter but I don't suggest you buy from the website cos their bags are slightly overpriced.
Hope this helps!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Aww thank you for your kind words :) Yes they are really loving! :))

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Thank you! Sam Edelman :D

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Fion! I got them from Sam Edelman :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hey Jan, nope I don't think there's any embossing and I'm not sure about the size babe!! I can ask my friends and get back to you via email if you need? :) Let me know!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Oh dear, let me ask my parents and get back to you!! :D

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Fiona,
Thank you :)) I got the black dress from T by Alexander Wang & the brown dress from Zara! Unfortunately I don't know the size of the satchel but I'll get back to you about that!

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi YT,
Thank you! Yes we have a similar piece coming up for the end-year season! :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Nicole,
Thank you! Yes it is :D

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi R, sorry I don't know now but I'll get back to you on that :)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi! I've only heard that you cannot wear black to church weddings! Have seen plenty wear white/cream apparel to weddings and even if the tradition exists I don't think it applies very much now? :)
It surely wasn't Rach's intention to steal the limelight. In any case, it's just a simple white dress, nothing compared to a wedding gown.

J said... [Reply to comment]

woah! may i know where did you get those giant prawns from?? thanks! :)

jin said... [Reply to comment]

hi vel! the one that you're carrying at the robinsons event...thanks!!

Babe I'm curious to know what's your role in LB.. It seems so fun with the buying trips n all! Also.. when you mention buying.. do you mean you wholesale?
What does Viola.. Rachel n Fred do? Do you all do the same thing or different? Thanks in advance for replying.. Have a good day!

Anonymous said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Vel, thanks for replying. It's probably just a 'older generation' thing to believe in? Cos I've asked a few friends and they've heard of people practicing the custom. Anyway, I mean no malice yeah? :/
Have a good day, Vel. Looking forward to your next blog entries.

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Vel!

I am very keen on getting the cambridge backpack/satchel, may i know what is the measurement for the one you currently own? Also, which collection does it come from (Batchel/Classic) ? The color is so pretty! I'm considering between the yellow and vintage brown =D

Pam said... [Reply to comment]

Hi vel! am heading to London and Paris soon, any recommendations on shopping, eating and must-see places? Should I email you? Thanks! =)

Vel said... [Reply to comment]

Hi Shujuan, nope we no longer wholesale but we import Korean jewelry to add variety to our collections :)
As for what we do.. Well, in a nutshell, I'm in charge of creatives & buying, Viola heads marketing while Rach heads our operations. All 3 of us contribute to the designs for LB. Fred manages the company, all our manufacturing & shipment, and deals with HR & Finance.

Vel said... [Reply to comment]
